Donald McCullin
Professional Experience:
The late Governor Mel Carnahan appointed Donald L. McCullin as a circuit judge of the 22nd Judicial Circuit in September, 1999. His primary duties were civil and criminal trials.
Judge McCullin attended public schools in the city of St. Louis and earned his B.S. degree from Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville, majoring in mathematics. He received his M.A. from Webster University and J.D. from St. Louis University Law School (SLU) where he now serves on the Dean's Council. He is a member of the Missouri, Illinois, and California bars.
Judge McCullin spent seven years in private practice with the firm of Wilson, Smith, and McCullin, four years as Managing Attorney for the United Auto Workers Legal Services Program and eleven years with Anheuser-Busch Companies as Director of Diversity and Compliance.
He is the recipient of numerous awards including: The Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis President's Award (1992 and 1999), the National Bar Associations, President's Award (1999, 2003), Best Region Award (1990), Humanitarian Award (2009), Distinguished Service Award (2003, 2008), The Honorable Theodore McMillian Award BLSA (1995), Region VIII of BLSA instituted an annual award to a worthy student titled the Donald L. McCullin leadership Award (2004).
Active in the legal community, McCullin is a member of the Mound City Bar Association, Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, St. Louis Lawyer's Association, Women Lawyer's Association, National Bar Association, and American Bar Association. He was also a columnist for the St. Louis Lawyer newsletter writing bimonthly on minority issues in the legal profession. He served two terms as president of the Mound City Bar Association and Regional Director of the National Bar Association.
